This was my first experience with mixing water, glue and paint. The premise of this piece was to illustrate the failure of the U.S. prison system in it’s attempt to effectively and proactively help human beings that came from less fortunate childhoods and/or underpriveleged socio-economic backgrounds.
It’s a blend of acrylic paint, Elmer’s glue, water, newspaper clippings, and a printed out picture of the face. It was fun to do but I have a lot to learn as far as controlling all these ingredients to get what I want.

Dear friend who claims to be sarcastic jerk -
There is a composition here that clearly indicates a very distinctive scope of intellect. How nice to see something that expresses the troubling aspects of a current social concern. It conveys the same sense I have about our prison system as it stands today. There is a nightmarish quality to the subjugation of reason, ethics and moral constraints considered acceptable in the policies being put in place by judges, courts, prison administrators and politicians. You describe it visually and viscerally in this work. I wouldn’t own it but I would definitely go to see this work in person. It would make a great cover for Time or NewsWeek!
- Thanks for inviting me to look -
